Appearance: A human male, in his early twenties and about 200 pounds, 5'10. His hair is straw blond and his eyes a pale blue. His equipment is the same as most of the troops, in fact for the most part it is the equipment Helix issued; leather armour, shortbow, a light lance. He keeps his gear in a large hemp sack tied to his horses saddle horn (save his blanket, rolled tightly and bound to the rear of the saddle). The only non-standard piece of equipment his is shortsword, which hangs from his side on a leather baldric (Helix had issued the men broadswords). His equipment is kept clean and serviceable, but is far from gaudy. A simple ring of white gold rests on the ring finger of his left hand.
History: Caerleon is very quiet and more than a little close mouthed about his past. He claims to be a native Waterdahvian and has let slip that he served with the Waterdahvian guard as an officer. Comments that he made while the company passed through the town of Daggerford lead many to think he served there with the Third Company of the Waterdahvian guard. He stayed in the camp while the men rushed to the towns bars, drilling with those who stayed behind and watching the horses. It's not known why he left the service, but several Waterdahvian natives note it's rare for someone to leave the Guard with as little as Caerleon evidently has. It seems likely some scandal led to his dismissal, but he refuses to discuss the issue. With Elvanshala's recent departure from the company, Caerleon has been promoted to command of Unit 4. he has accepted the promotion with the same calm and equability he has shown in his duties to date.
Approaching six feet, Tye is a human with sandy, mouse coloured hair and dark brown eyes approaching black. He seems to be a young man in transition. You observe him tempering boyish enthusiasm with deliberate attempts at patience and wisdom. A little awkward socially, he warms quickly to friends. His boyish frame is sown with the seeds of manhood and you alternately see him ambling in an ungainly manner from his quickly growing body and the budding grace as he moves through the woods. Dressed in leather studded armour with a longsword and dagger at his belt, his cocky smile is both charming and disarming. Dressed in plain brown clothes, he carries a bow that looks to be only a moment away from being strung and fired.
History: As far back as he can remember, he has no recollection of his mother. His earliest memories are of his abusive father. A day labourer who drank too much and beat the boy regularly, because it was "Gu for ya" By the time he was eight, his father apprenticed (sold) him to a Cooper for an undisclosed sum of money. Working for the cooper until he was fifteen, Tye learned a great deal about making barrels. He was also darned good at woodworking in general and has helped out in building houses to earn some pocket money.
With what money he was able to earn on his own, Tye set out to the adventurers' taverns to either hear the bards sing songs of derring do, or to hear the adventurers brag while deep in their cups. Always a bit of a scrawny lad, Tye began to fill out about the time he was 14. His hard work left him with a youthful leanness and a wiry musculature. His hands are rough and callused from his years of coopering. His eyes are keen at noticing fine details, for coopering demands that you know the smallest flaw in the wood by looking at it and feeling it. This talent has made him a natural at looking for tracks, although his skill is at yet undeveloped. His strength is good, although he is not yet fully grown.
Tye felt something click inside when he saw the handbill asking for recruits. One morning, before the cooper arose, Tye left a small, but poorly spelled, note bidding the cooper farewell. For although the cooper had treated him fairly, their were no strong emotional bonds to break.
Tall for his age, he passed muster easily. Although he has never yet handled a blade or shot a bow, he feels that this is minor compared to his will to adventure.
Shillastimir felt that Tye was too short a name for an adventurer and christened him Tiberius. While appreciative of the name, the lad still prefers Tye.
Working closely under Shillastimir's tutelage, Tye has taken to the life of a Ranger like a duck to water. Shillastimir and Tye have developed a bond somewhere between father/son and old brother/younger brother. Tye is also quite taken with Bobo, Shillastimir's dog. The three can be seen together quite often discussing the finer points of wood lore.
Although not yet full grown, Tye is rapidly filling out with a lean, wiry musculature from his life on the road.
Tye is mainly an NPC, but Chris Duignan generally controls him.
Shillastimir's dog. Rambunctious and
playful, he is nearly always found with either Shillastimir or
Alwyna.
(Male Wemic)
A large creature with the body and head of a lion attached to a humanoid torso, his fur covers his entire body and is a magnificent tawny gold in colour. His mane is so dark as to be nearly black and various tattoos are inked into parts of his flesh. Besides his massive size and tattoos, he carries a broad-bladed stabbing spear and several throwing spears in a quiver across his back. A single, massive canine tooth (fully 18" long) hangs from a leather thong around his neck. His voice is deep and usually ends sentences with a hint of an unconscious growl. He speaks in short, terse bursts. Musafa is the last remaining member of the Ooroa tribe, a tribe of jungle dwelling wemics in the Chult region. Musafa was captured by a wizard with a stick that shot paralysing rays of light. Placed in a cage in the hold of a flying ship, he found one of the northerners from the previous group had hired on the vessel as a crewman, unaware of Musafa being its prisoner. He released Musafa but the mage's magic was to powerful and they were imprisoned. When another flying vessel attacked the ship crashed, and Musafa was freed, but hurt. He now finds himself far from home and in a strange land, but with no family to return to he feels free to join the strangers who healed him and indulge his wanderlust. Provided of course, the northerner Antonio, to whom he owes a debt of honour, remains as well. Musafa has been promoted to lead Unit 3.
(Half-Orc female) (trooper)
Height:6' Weight:200 # Age:low twenties? Hair:Black and straight Eyes:Black
Physical appearance: Kreela might have been pretty if not for the two tusks which betray her orcan heritage by protruding slightly. Her checks are scarred, most likely from small pox, but she looks very fit and has the best legs in the company. Think 1/2 orc Xena:) Kreela spends a lot of time with Antonio, and seems content to do her job and enjoy life when possible.
(Human Female): Height: 5'9" Weight: 133# Age: 22 Hair: very long auburn curly Eyes: Blue
Physical Description: Tall and lithe, Meegan's auburn hair flows freely down to the small of her back, sometimes hiding her cool blue eyes and narrow face.
Wearing her hair long allows Meegan to cover the series of scars that begin at the jawline of the right side of her face and end just above her right ear. Were it not for those scars, Meegan would call herself almost a beautiful woman, but those scars are a part of her past, and she does not speak of their origin. Meegan is a soft-spoken woman, but when she speaks people tend to listen, as her words only come after much thought.
She has a calming effect upon Jared, despite (or perhaps because of) her constant, well-meaning sarcastic jabs at his expense. Meegan is well liked by her troopers.
